For beer, malt is the most important raw material. Sapporo Beer built a "Malt Manufacturing Factory" that produces malt starting from the raw materials on the adjacent land to the Gunma Factory. This factory is composed of a series of facility complexes, including a "Barley Warehouse" for storing barley, which is the raw material for malt; a "Germinator Building" for soaking and germinating barley; a "Kiln Building" for roasting and drying the germinated malt; and a "Silo" for storing the finished malt until shipment. Especially in the case of the Germinator Building and the Kiln Building, in order to introduce machines made in Germany, the birthplace of beer, they were designed to match those machines. Its form is more like the machines themselves rather than a a factory building.
