Toranomon 15. Mori Building Seismic Renewal

Seismic Renewals for “Number Mori Building”

Seismic Resistance Enhancement & Value Upgrade Project for a 1969-completed office building. Part of Mori Building's iconic "Number Building" series, these 30 meters-tall, 11-story office towers utilized design innovations like Wall Girder to create high-quality workspace, sustaining long-term use. As a short-term transition before future redevelopment, the renovation focused on "preserving memories of urban coexistence" rather than radical transformation: maintaining the original structure while upgrading seismic safety, refreshing the exterior and common areas. The striking entrance hall tile mural from its inauguration was retained, complemented by wooden finishes and indirect lighting to elevate the space into a warm, functional office environment. Alongside the similarly upgraded 11 Mori Building (completed in the same period), this tower was demolished in 2023 to make way for the newly completed Toranomon Station Tower.
