Shin-Yokohama THECH Building

The Forerunner of the Development of Shin-Yokohama

The office building is located at the north exit of Shin-Yokohama Station. Twenty years after the opening of the Shinkansen bullet train, Shin-Yokohama finally saw the introduction of the subway. In order to take the lead in promoting the development of Shin-Yokohama, the 9-story Building A was constructed. And during the construction of Building A, the 16-story Building B was built by making use of the Yokohama City Street Environment Design System. The two buildings are connected by an internal bridge and function as one building. The exterior is composed of silver aluminum panels and horizontal continuous windows made of reflective glass. For the smoke exhaust and ventilation windows above the windows, inward tilting windows are installed behind the aluminum punching panel. Thus, regardless of whether they are open or closed, the appearance remains unchanged, creating a cool facade.
