Ikegami Honmon-ji Temple, located in Ota Ward, Tokyo, serves as the head temple of Nichiren Buddhism. As the spiritual site where Holly priest Nichiren passed away, it continues to uphold his teachings through modern missionary activities. The Headquarters Building is positioned east of the main gate within the vast temple grounds, leveraging the northward "Oyama" (rear hill) terrain to create a four-story structure integrated into the slope. As the central administrative hub of Nichiren Buddhism, the Headquarters manages nationwide temples, overseas missionary work, contemporary religious research, and monastic education. Twelve meeting rooms feature traditional Japanese design elements, while the underground Nichiren Modern Religious Research Institute houses a 40,000-volume library. The top-floor grand hall, designed with a curved roof symbolizing clouds, harmonizes with the temple landscape. The roof uses dark green nickel-clad stainless steel to enhance natural integration. The lobby's double-height ceiling also incorporates curved lines, maintaining design coherence.
