Takamatsu Chuo Shopping Street, known for having the longest arcade in Japan, consists of eight shopping streets. Among them, Takamatsu Marugamemachi Shopping Street was developed into seven blocks, labeled A to G, from north to south. This project redeveloped the southernmost G block of Marugamemachi Shopping Street. The redevelopment included a complex with about 60 shops, a hotel with 175 rooms, 96 residential units, a plaza, parking lots, and bicycle parking. Given its role as the gateway from the national highway, the G block arcade was designed to be twice as high as usual, creating a grand and welcoming space.Additionally, a large public plaza (approximately 40m wide, 25m deep, and 20m high) was established in the center of the shopping street, where light pours in, creating a new central space for the shopping street that fosters vibrancy, relaxation, and interaction.
