This is a project planned for the site of the once-bustling department store in Chiba City. With many locals holding deep affection for this site, the plan aims to create Chiba's tallest tower as a tangible response to their emotional connection. From the upper floors of the tower, one can overlook Yokohama and Mount Fuji, while the base integrates shops connected to the local shopping street. The lower levels feature a human-scaled streetscape with 2-3 story segmented volumes, upon which the tower appears to float. In addition to the exterior public plaza, a street-like elevated public space on the second floor maximizes public accessibility. The exterior color scheme transitions from earth tones at the base to sky-integrated hues, incorporating multiple accent colors to evoke urban vibrancy – creating a new symbol rooted in the memories of the past.
