Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto

Embraced by the History and Tranquility of Kyoto Ryozen An Architectural Space Immersed in a Transcendent World

Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto is located on the Higashiyama hillside at the end of the Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka hillsides that connect Kiyomizu Temple and Kodaiji Temple. The property overlooks Yasaka-no-to (Pagoda of Yasaka) to the west and the city of Kyoto beyond. With the Banyan Group's strong desire to "first foray of Banyan Tree brand into Japan to be in Kyoto", the interior and exterior design was conceived by various designers based on the concept of “yugen”. IMA was in charge of implementation design and supervision. The facility consists of 52 guest rooms, a spa, restaurant, and bar. The luxurious interior and exterior space design of the hotel is unique and impressive, including the large eaves above the entrance and the bathtubs in the guest rooms that evokes the serene moments of Kyoto's Rozen Mountain.
