NewCity Arena Tower

This office building is located at the easternmost edge of Shin-Yokohama Area. With its northeast side adjacent to Shin-Yokohama Second Park, the Yokohama Environmental Design System mandates integrated development with the park. The design removes the boundary fence, merging the building’s approach space with the park to create an open front yard - like public realm accessible to both office users and the general public. The facade expresses the irregular site which avoid the park area, and the transportation node identity of Yokohama Circular Route 2 and Tokaido Shinkansen on north and south sides through intersecting volumes. Positioned at the district’s edge, the design incorporates the concept of an "Outer Perimeter Gate" – a landmark entrance visible to westbound traffic from Tokyo, reinforcing Shin Yokohama’s regional identity.
