Carved Out in the Forest of Setagaya A Residence Full of Nature for the Elderly

Located in Setagaya ward, Tokyo, this project is a fee-based nursing home with care services, situated at the edge of the lush Kokubunji Cliff Line. The complex consists of two buildings - the main hall and annex - staggered in a front-back arrangement to ensure optimal lighting, ventilation, and privacy. Residents can enjoy the sound of waterfalls cascading down the cliff slopes from their living quarters and the underground restaurant. While prioritizing residential comfort, the design aims to recreate the diverse natural landscapes of the historic Musashino region. With its autumn-hued exterior walls and wooden latticework allowing gentle breezes to pass through, this senior residence offers a blend of luxurious comfort and refined elegance.
